Dennis A. Darby, president and CEO of Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters; Maureen Adamson, Interim president and CEO of Colleges Ontario; and Steve Orsini, president and CEO of the Council of Ontario Universities, have co-signed an open letter emphasizing the importance of preparing the next generation of workers to support Ontario’s critical manufacturing industry and secure the province’s economic future.
The letter was sent to Nolan Quinn, Minister of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Innovation; David Piccini, Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development; and Peter Bethlenfalvy, Minister of Finance. It urges the province to ensure that Ontario’s publicly funded post-secondary institutions have the financial resources needed to continue developing the talent and innovation essential to Ontario’s competitiveness.
